NSW Heritage Office Award - 9-September-2005 @ 3:15:59 PM
  On the 8th September, NSW Heritage Office awarded the Sydney Project, Keith Appeleby and the fisherman of Bermagui, a recognition award.

The presentation took place at the historical Tathra Warf, the place where the steamer Bega departed for the last time in 1908.

Project leader Samir Alhafith accepted the award on behalf of all members, presented by the Michael Collins, Chair Heritage Council NSW.

The award was presented to the Sydney Project for their continuing work, in recording key historical ship wrecks, on the NSW coast. Mr.Collins praised project members, for their dedication in bringing these ship wrecks to public view, and for sharing the infrormation. The project was also praised for their continuing effort in preservation of these historical sites, and carrying this message to the public.

Other awards that were presented, was to Keith Appeleby for his continuing dedication in finding these wrecks. The Fisherman of Bermagui have provided all of the marks to enable the Sydney Project dive these wrecks, and without their knoweldge of the sea, non of these achievements would be possible.
