Iron Knight revealed - 20-June-2006 @ 1:00:28 AM

It's The Iron Knight I write on my slate to a support diver.

A team of 3 divers and 3 support divers has positively identified the wreck of the Iron Knight.

The team dived for the second time in two weeks to identify this wreck laying in 129 metres depth, sitting upright with the stern totally intact but the bow is rather damaged and collapsed; this is the area most likely where the torpedo hit.

The water condition were the best the team has ever experienced on any wreck, with visibility in access of 40 metres and no current. The descend was fast and took the team just four minutes to reach the bottom.

The wreck was identified by the stern gun and the single prop. No name was found on either the stern or the bow.

Full report will be posted shortly with the new photos.
