SS Cumberland Survey - 21-December-2003 @ 2:32:39 PM
New survey expedition is planned for late March with the Melbourne crew of Greg Hodge and Mark Ryan.

A meeting is due to happen in February in Sydney with The NSW Heritage Office regarding conducting further detailed survey's on the Cumberland.
There is a lot of interest of further human activity that took place during the salvage operations, and how it shaped the wreck to it's current state. Further documentation will be recorded as well as location of any salvage equipment such us pumps used in repairs while it was beached on Gabo island.
Other parts of interest is the stern area which is yet to be seen and filmed, also location of a Bell is a priority, and a huge task to find it amongs the scattered wreckage.
Further discussion with the Heritage office and the Maritime Museum will be conducted regarding recovery of any artifacts for public display.
