Deep wreck filming project 2006 - 1-May-2006 @ 4:21:18 PM
A new exciting project will take place this winter on the south coast to film all the deep wrecks.

With a fifth wreck due to be dived on the 27th May there have been little success with filming the deep wrecks.

Apart from the Bega which is more accessable depth wise with bottom times of up to 50 minutes at 75 metres were done. There is significant amount footage of this wreck compiled and still being collected.

The depth of the other three wrecks "soon to be four" is restrictive to conduct proper filming dives and will take much longer to build a complete library of footage. But with new filming project the aim will be to gather as much footage as possible of key elements and structures on these wrecks to identify the condition that they are in.

Four new expeditions will take place to dive the new wreck site in 125 metres of water, also William Dawes, Wear and Cumberland. Further dates will be set if weather conditions stop the diving activity.

The team welcomes anyone interested to travel to the south coast and assist in support role with this ambitious project.

Update: Film project in 2007 - 26-February-2007 @ 3:20:57 PM

Like any other plan that depends on good weather, 2006 proved to be the worst on record. From all expeditions that the team attempted, only one went ahead and dived in December, since the last dives that the team did in July 06.

The team is hoping that 2007 will bring back normal weather patters, and for the filming to start in winter.
